Therapeutic Yoga - I  teach Yoga with a view to improving the function of the body, allowing you to move with ease and vitality, on your mat, in everyday life and in your chosen sport or activities.  Its not just about getting into a pose. Whether through injury, sport or just bad posture, we all have compensatory patterns in our bodies and for some of us this causes pain and sometimes injury. Often it is the way that we move that creates our pain or injuries and that's why they keep re-occuring.  Compensatory patterns that set up dysfunction in the body, i.e. the wrong muscules doing the wrong jobs, creating tension, weakness and tightness.

My method of Therapeutic Yoga allows you to learn your patterns of dysfunction so that you can change them, improving function i.e. making sure that each joint has stability, flexibility and strength in balance so that each joint works well with ease.  The brain is continuiously learning so as we practice moving with ease and good function the body improves, on the mat, in life and in your sports and activities.

I use these principles in my classes and also work with clients privately.  Even if you have been injured through a car crash, or have a genetic disorder you can always improve the function of the way the body works.  I always work in a range of movement with no pain, no strain and no discomfort.  Working through pain is teaching the body that it is ok and we want to teach the body to move with ease in all that we do.

So whether you want to get out of pain, recover from an injury, build a body that has balanced flexibility, strength and stability, have more energy, improve fitness levels, improve techniqie in your sport or just feel a great freedom of movement and ease through your body and mind - then you would benefit from my classes or private sessions. Many people say they are not flexible enought to do Yoga but its not all about flexibility.  It's about improving function and creating balance, so no matter how your body is you will improve in my class or sessions.

The mind and body are ultimately linked so as you release in the body the mind releases too.

Yoga works on the body, breath, nervous systerm, and the mind as they are all linked.  As we work on the postures the nervous system switches to the relaxation response, the heart rate lowers, the blood pressure lowers, the immune and digestive systerms increase and the mind is calmed.  As this is practiced more and more, it gets wired into the brain as a habit, so it can affect life in general.  The affects are cumlative.

In my classes (click here for where and when) everyone is welcome, all shapes, ages, fitness and gender. Everyone works at their own level, and with no pain or strain. There is something for everyone.

The benefits of yoga are amazing, including strength, stamina, flexibility (see my blog for more info). Yoga is also of great benefit to the mind achieving a quiet and still mind in which the effects are spread into every day life.

I also offer one to one or small groups and pregnancy. Try a Yoga Morning or a Relaxation/Meditation Morning or Evening at The Rectory Health and Fitness Club in West Farleigh, a place of tranquillity and beauty  - the perfect atmosphere.   For any more information about my classes etc please contact me now.

It is my passion to teach everyone that the body and mind are connected. That we can heal ourselves, manifest our health, destiny and our wellbeing.

Testimonials:

"I have been attending Jeni’s Yoga classes for many years now, and still really look forward to them. Jeni is a very thorough teacher, she provides detailed instructions and demonstrates each movement well. Jeni has greatly helped me to improve my body awareness. I always feel good after the class. Many thanks Jeni!"  Julie Ward x

"I have been attending Jenny’s Yoga class for 2 months and recently attended one of her Yoga days which included meditation, chanting and guided relaxation. Jenny has a talent for connecting mind and body and I have found my Yoga practice deepening even though I have practiced for over 6 years. Jenny’s relaxation and visualisations restore balance and harmony and I always leave her classes feeling a deep peace. Her Yoga day was an extension of the classes and I found it profoundly healing. I highly recommend attending either her classes or days to everyone who wishes to heal stress in the mind or body or anyone who enjoys activities that add to a more positive way of life." Kate Mc Cay
